Overview

This tutorial demonstrates how to use the Qmail Administrator Panel to add, update or delete email accounts.

Step 1

Open a browser such as Internet Explorer on any computer with an internet connection. Enter "http://mail.website.com" where "website.com" is your domain into the address bar. For our example we're using "http://mail.ripleyphotographic.com".

Step 2

When SquirrelMail appears please note the Qmail Admin link at the bottom of the page. Click Qmail Admin.

Step 3

Log into Qmail Administration.

To access administrator options enter "postmaster" as the User Account. If your website is "www.ripleyphotographic.com" then your domain is "ripleyphotographic.com". Please enter your domain into the Domain Name field. Supply the postmaster Password which was supplied to you via PDF document during the creation of your account.

Click Login.

Step 4

Now that you're logged in, create a new email account by clicking New Email Account.

Step 5

Enter an account name in the Email Account field. Enter your new password into the New Password and Password (again) fields. Enter the full name of the person who will use this account into the Real Name field.

Click Add.

Step 6

The new email account you created will be added to the list of accounts. This may take a moment as the account is added.

If you would like to make further changes click the Modify User beside the account name.

The Catch All Account is a mailbox that receives all undeliverable email. For example, if a message is sent to someone in your organization but the email address is misspelled, that message is sent to the Catch All Account. To specify this account click the circle icon beside the account which will then appear red.

Once all changes are made, click Main Menu to finish.

Step 7

From the Main Menu, to delete an email account click the Email Accounts link.

Step 8

Click the delete icon beside the account name you wish to delete.

Step 9

A new page will appear. If you wish to forward all email before deleting the account check on the Forward email box. Enter an account to send messages to in the Yes, forward it to field.

Click Confirm Delete.

Step 10

Once all changes are made, click Main Menu to finish.
